Professor Kyong-hwan Kim, Dean of the Graduate School of Global Entrepreneurship, was selected as the recipient of the Academic Category Award at the 42nd Suwon City Cultural Awards. Suwon City held the award ceremony on the 15th at the Suwon Convention Center and presented trophies to six awardees, including Professor Kim.
Professor Kyong-hwan Kim is a leading scholar in the fields of technology commercialization and the dissemination of entrepreneurship outcomes. He has overseen the university’s entrepreneurship governance and led major initiatives, including the Entrepreneurship-Centered University Project, the Laboratory Start-up Innovation Group, the Campus Town Project, and the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center. He was highly commended for contributing to the advancement of the university’s start-up ecosystem by securing and operating numerous government-funded projects.
In addition, he has devoted himself to cultivating students’ entrepreneurial spirit through extracurricular entrepreneurship education, practice-oriented foundational training, and start-up business idea programs, producing more than 180 professional start-up specialists. Over the past five years, the university has achieved tangible results under his leadership, including a cumulative on-campus start-up investment of KRW 200 billion and a total corporate valuation of KRW 1.1 trillion.
