Startup Support Foundation’s Campus Town Project Group Successfully Hosts “Stanford Research Institute Workshop”
Professor Ki-Ho Choi Presents Hands-On Startup Education Based on Silicon Valley’s Innovation Process

The Startup Support Foundation’s Campus Town Project Group successfully hosted the Stanford Research Institute Workshop (SRI) on July 31 and August 8, 2025, at the Startup Campus on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. This program applied Stanford Research Institute’s startup model and the 5DOI innovation process to help participants develop practical entrepreneurial skills that can be immediately applied in industry. Undergraduate and graduate students from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) with an interest in entrepreneurship took part.

Participants engaged in immersive activities such as group exercises, team discussions, and elevator pitches. Notably, the first session, held in collaboration with the Laboratory-Specialized Startup Leading University program, provided a continuous learning experience designed to further enhance the practical skills of student startup clubs. From designing startup models to pitching business ideas and conducting team-based exercises, participants experienced the full range of the entrepreneurial process, broadening their perspectives and expanding their networks.

Professor Ki-Ho Choi commented, “Startup education is not just about delivering knowledge—it’s about giving participants opportunities to face challenges, experiment, and learn through experience. I hope this workshop helped participants clarify their own ideas and strengthen their ability to connect them with market opportunities.”

Participants shared positive feedback, saying, “It felt like being a Stanford student, fully immersed in learning real-world entrepreneurship,” and “I was able to develop the ability to turn ideas into concrete business models in a short period of time.”

Through this program, students deepened their understanding of the startup process and success strategies, while also gaining exposure to outstanding startup models and expanding their collaborative networks. This is expected to serve as a new driving force for fostering youth entrepreneurship.

In addition to SRI, the Campus Town Project Group offers a variety of practical programs—such as tailored education and mentoring for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs—to support startup growth and activity. The group plans to continue providing opportunities for students to engage in creative challenges and gain real-world experience.
