On March 15th, SKKU signed an agreement: “Mutual Cooperation for the establishment of Graduate School of AI” with Gyeonggi Province. SKKU has been chosen by the Ministry of Science and ICT as one of the institutions of this project and will receive financial support from the government for 10 years.
Based on this agreement, SKKU will cooperate with Gyeonggi-do to produce highly educated manpower, enhance competiveness in the industry and improve employment rate.
The agreement ceremony was held at the Gyeonggi Provincial government building and the participants were: President Dong Ryeol SHIN, Vice President Hong Joon YOO, Vice President Sung Jin SONG, President of Research & Business Foundation Hyun Seung CHOO, Vice President of Convergence Institute for Intelligence and Informatics Ji Hyung LEE, and the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, Jae Myung LEE.
President SHIN said, “AI is the central engine for the era of 4th industrial revolution. I hope to see SKKU become the center of AI research by producing talented students with master’s and doctorate degrees.”
Governor LEE said, “I hope to see this cooperation lead to the creation of jobs in Gyeonggi Province.”
