Samsung Scholarship Students Conduct Future Technology Exploration Program at CES
– A newly established program for Samsung Scholarship students designed to cultivate perspectives on future society and insights into global innovation

SKKU implemented the newly introduced “Future Technology Exploration Program” for Samsung Scholarship students beginning in the 2025 academic year. Forty Samsung Scholarship students who participated in the program visited the CES 2026 exhibition site in person, experiencing firsthand the direction of future industries at the world’s largest information technology (IT) and consumer electronics exhibition, and cultivating perspectives on future society as well as insights into the global innovation landscape.
For this program, participating scholarship students were divided into eight groups to enable them to approach the exhibition from diverse perspectives based on their different academic backgrounds. Each group conducted in-depth exploration activities centered on major exhibition areas of CES 2026—such as artificial intelligence (AI), next-generation semiconductors, smart mobility, digital healthcare, and sustainable technologies—based on preselected group research themes and disciplinary viewpoints.

Beyond simply touring the exhibition, the Samsung Scholarship students engaged in analysis and discussion on how technological advancements influence society and industry as a whole, as well as what implications these changes hold for individual career planning and the development of core competencies. Through these activities, the program provided an opportunity to expand integrative thinking beyond disciplinary boundaries and to develop problem awareness and insight required in a rapidly changing technological environment. In addition, during the exploration schedule, group-based sessions were held to share outcomes derived from on-site CES experiences. The Samsung Scholarship students discussed technology trends and directions of industrial change highlighted by each group, jointly examining the potential for technological convergence and implications for future society.
In addition, a meeting and dinner with the President of the University were arranged during the exploration program. During this occasion, the Samsung Scholarship students freely exchanged views on global technological innovation trends observed at CES 2026 and the competencies that the younger generation must prepare for, while reflecting together on the University’s vision of talent development and the role of students as global leaders.
Through this Future Technology Exploration Program, SKKU plans to continue expanding systematic, global experiential education programs to support Samsung Scholarship students in growing into individuals equipped with the insight and sense of responsibility required on the global stage.
