SKKU Ranks Second Overall in Both INUE·Korea Economic Daily University Evaluation and University Corporation Evaluation

- Ranked No. 1 among private universities in the University Evaluation

- Ranked No. 1 in Sustainability in the University Corporation Evaluation

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) has demonstrated its competitiveness as a leading research-centered university by ranking second overall in the 2025 INUE·Korea Economic Daily University Evaluation, conducted for the first time this year.

The evaluation assessed 114 general universities nationwide with more than 5,000 enrolled students, across three categories: Research Performance (38%), Educational Innovation (37%), and Sustainability (25%). Seoul National University placed first with a score of 80.52, while SKKU ranked second with 77.74 points, outperforming both Yonsei University and Korea University.

SKKU achieved balanced results across all categories—Research Performance (28.18 points, 2nd place), Educational Innovation (28.79 points, 4th place), and Sustainability (20.77 points, 3rd place). In particular, the university surpassed both Seoul National University and KAIST in the number of SCI-level papers published per faculty member.

In the concurrently announced 2025 INUE·Korea Economic Daily University Corporation Evaluation, the SKKU Foundation also ranked second overall. This evaluation targeted 83 educational corporations operating private universities with more than 5,000 students, examining Corporate Financial Soundness (40%), University-Corporate Financial Stability (20%), and Sustainability (40%).

The SKKU Foundation scored well across all categories—Corporate Financial Soundness (21.38 points, 5th place), University-Corporate Financial Stability (16.39 points, 2nd place), and Sustainability (36.56 points, 1st place). Notably, it received near-perfect scores in indicators reflecting the corporation’s level of financial support for the university, such as the Legal Contribution Rate (100.01%) and the Operational Expense Coverage Rate (125%). The low tuition dependence rate (43.63%) also highlights SKKU’s stable and sustainable financial structure.

These results demonstrate SKKU’s balanced growth in research capability, financial soundness, and sustainability—both at the university and corporate levels—and reaffirm its competitiveness as it continues its stride toward becoming a “Global Leading University.”
