SKKU held Vietnamese Alumni Reunion in Ho Chi Minh city and discussed inter-university cooperation

SKKU visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from December 15 to 17 to host Vietnamese Alumni Reunion and discuss measures for inter-university cooperation. The delegation included President Ji Beom Yoo, Director of Research & Business Foundation Jachoon Koo, Dean of the College of Pharmacy Hyungsik Kim, and the Vice President of the International Affairs, Minhyo Cho.
On the first day, the University hosted an alumni meeting for the Ho Chi Minh City region, providing an opportunity to engage with Vietnamese alumni actively working in the local community. A total of 20 alumni attended, including those currently serving as professors at institutions such as Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and Duy Tan University, further strengthening their ties with their alma mater.

As the next item on the agenda, the University delegation visited Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), where they met with President Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai to hold in-depth discussions on expanding cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was also attended by Vice Director of External Relations Ho Quoc Bang, President of the University of Technology Mai Thanh Phong, President of the University of Health Sciences Phan Bach Thang, and a total of 10 related officials.
Founded in 1995, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest national university in Vietnam and, together with Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is one of the country’s leading higher education institutions. The university leads education and research in diverse fields such as engineering, health sciences, and social sciences, and during the meeting, multifaceted cooperation measures—including academic exchange, joint research, and student exchange programs—were actively discussed with a focus on these areas.

Through this visit, SKKU plans to strengthen its Vietnamese alumni network and further expand its cooperative relationship with Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, thereby continuing to enhance its standing as a global university.
