Knowledge Center for Innovative Higher Education Hosts ‘AI + Video Creation’ Intensive Workshop

The Knowledge Center for Innovative Higher Education (KCIHE), led by Professor Lee Se Young, held the ‘AI + Video Creation’ Intensive Workshop over five days between July 30 and August 7 at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus Central Library.

Approximately 40 students, selected through a preliminary needs survey, participated in the workshop, which was designed to help them develop essential competencies for the AI era in a short, focused period. Based on students’ areas of interest and learning needs, the Center designs customized education programs combining AI with various fields (X) to provide a student-centered learning experience.

The training included hands-on sessions covering: ▲AI content planning and prompt engineering▲AI-based image/video creation and editing ▲Audio dubbing practice ▲Self-introduction video production ▲Virtual space creation using AI ▲Storytelling video planning and team-based production.

Notably, participants created their own self-introduction videos as well as university promotional videos blending “AI + K-Culture.” Their creative ideas, planning, and directing skills—enhanced by AI technologies—resulted in highly polished final products.

The workshop went beyond teaching technical skills, allowing students to experience the entire process from planning to production, editing, and presentation. Participants chose topics reflecting their majors and personal interests, learning how to effectively implement their ideas using AI tools. As a result, they not only improved their digital creation skills, but also enhanced problem-solving, collaboration, and creative expression through technology. One student remarked, “It was amazing to see my ideas brought to life right before my eyes using AI. I now want to actively apply AI to my major studies as well.”

Professor Lee Se Young, Director of KCIHE, commented, “This workshop was designed to help students use AI not merely as a tool, but as a creative partner—guiding them through the entire process of visualizing and implementing their ideas. We plan to expand the AI+X Intensive Workshop series into diverse fields such as industry & technology, society & culture, and environment & sustainability, providing students with opportunities to grow into competitive, interdisciplinary talents for the future.”

Videos produced by the workshop participants can be viewed on the official KCIHE YouTube channel.
